Subscribing to the NinjaCat Release Notes RSS feed ensures you receive updates on new features and improvements as they are published. This guide provides steps to subscribe using Feedly and Slack so you can stay informed efficiently.

Subscribing to an RSS Feed in Feedly

We chose Feedly for our example. Feedly is one of many web based RSS feed readers. Follow these steps to subscribe:

  1. Sign in to Feedly:

    • Go to Feedly and log in or create an account.
  2. Add the RSS Feed to Feedly:

    • In Feedly, click on "Follow Sources" in the left panel.

    • Paste the copied RSS feed URL into the search bar (https://docs.ninjacat.io/changelog.rss).

    • Click the feed result that appears.

    • Select a Feed Folder or create a new one.

    • Click "Follow" to subscribe.

  3. Access and Organize Your Feeds:

    • Click on your feed categories from the left sidebar to view updates.
    • Use Feedly’s settings to customize your reading experience.

Subscribing to an RSS Feed in Slack

Slack can deliver RSS updates directly to a channel using the RSS app. Follow these steps to subscribe:

  1. Install the RSS App in Slack:

    • Open Slack and go to the Apps section.

    • Search for RSS in the Slack App Directory.

    • Click "Add to Slack" and grant necessary permissions.

  2. Add an RSS Feed to a Slack Channel:

    • Open any Slack channel where you want to receive RSS updates.

    • Type the following command in the message bar and press Enter:

      /feed subscribe [RSS Feed URL]
      

      Example: /feed subscribe https://docs.ninjacat.io/changelog.rss

  3. Manage RSS Feeds in Slack:

    • To see a list of subscribed feeds, type:
      /feed list
      
    • To remove a feed, type:
      /feed remove [RSS Feed URL]
      
  4. Confirm Updates in Your Slack Channel:

    • Slack will start posting updates from the subscribed RSS feed in the selected channel.
    • Adjust notification settings to avoid excessive messages.
