Facebook Ads & Facebook Page Insights: Meta Graph API v25 Upgrade

Product Area: Integrations / Reporting
Jira: DT-2342

We've upgraded both NinjaCat's Facebook Ads and Facebook Page Insights connectors to Meta's Graph API v25. Alongside the Facebook Ads v25 upgrade, this release also restores reporting for Page Impressions (affected by Meta's November 2025 Pages API change) and adds new paid/organic breakdown metrics at both the Page and Post level on the Page Insights side.

What's new — five new metrics (Facebook Page Insights):

  • Page Media Views (Paid)
  • Page Media Views (Organic)
  • Post Media Views (Paid)
  • Post Media Views (Organic)
  • Post Media Views (Followers)

The Page-level paid/organic split is new capability with no prior equivalent in NinjaCat. The Post-level breakdowns replace previously-deprecated post impressions paid/organic/fan metrics.

What's changed:

  • The metric previously labeled Page Impressions is now labeled Page Media Views, matching Meta's naming. Existing saved reports, dashboards, and scheduled deliveries continue to work — the metric's identity is unchanged, only its label and backend API call have moved.
  • 11 legacy Page Impressions variants (paid, viral, and the 9 story-type breakdowns) have been deprecated by Meta and are no longer available when building new reports. Saved reports will continue to return data through Meta's current API window; once Meta retires them later in 2026, those reports will stop returning data for those columns. Where Meta has provided a replacement, we've mapped to it. Viral-reach has no equivalent in the new API.

What you don't need to do:
Existing reports, dashboards, and scheduled deliveries continue to run on both connectors. No migration step required.

Customizable Comparison Arrows

Product Area: Template Editor

We have added new customization options for comparison arrows in the Template Editor's Scorecard and Table widgets. Users can now:
• Change arrow styles using predefined types (more styles coming soon)
• Customize arrow colors for increase, decrease, and neutral states
• Access these options via Template Settings under the Styling section
• Further personalize individual widgets by selecting Custom arrow colors
These enhancements give users greater control over their template aesthetics.
To customize your arrows:

  1. Go To The Template Settings Tab
  2. Navigate to Styling
  3. Adjust comparison arrow styling and color preferences
  4. For widget-specific changes, select Custom under Arrow Colors.

Account-Specific Dashboard Template Configuration

Product Area: Dashboard

We have added functionality allowing account-specific dashboard template configurations. Users can now customize dashboard template selections at the account level through the following path:
Account Command Center > More Actions > Settings > Dashboard tab
This new feature enables:
• Including/excluding specific templates per account
• Template selection visibility control
• Customized dashboard per account
Templates excluded from an account's dashboard selection will not appear in that account's dashboard view or downloads. This enhancement provides greater customization flexibility at the individual account level, eliminating the need to create multiple templates for minor variations.

Small but Mighty Update: Template Editor Enhancement

Product Area: Template Editor

We've made another small but powerful improvement to the template editor! When adding or editing data source, dimension, metrics, or filters, your selected items now stay pinned to the top while scrolling through the list. This makes it much easier to track what you've selected, especially when working with data sources that allow multiple selections.

Potential Delays in Data Retrieval
Due to the current structure of our API, requests for data can sometimes take tens of minutes to complete. This means that when you make requests from the template editor, there is a possibility that they may time out. However, please note that even if a request times out, it may still process in the background and the data will be cached for up to one day.
Strategy to Validate Data
Our logic filters out any posts created after the end of your requested date range. This means that if you select a date range that goes further back in time, we can eliminate more recent posts from the data retrieval. By doing this, we can significantly decrease the number of posts we need to check, which should lead to faster request completion times. In some cases, this optimization may even turn what would have been a timing-out request into one that completes successfully.

We have made several enhancements to chart widgets to give you more control over your visualizations:

  • Default setting keeps primary chart on top
  • Toggle "Secondary Chart on Top" option to adjust layering

Paused Report Status Now Visible in List View

Product Area: Reports List

We've added a new "Paused" status to the report list page. Previously, you could only see if a report was paused by clicking the "More Actions" menu. Now, paused reports are clearly visible in the main list view. You can also filter specifically for paused reports using the status filter at the top of the page.

Success Center

Product Area: Overall App

We are excited to announce the release of our new Success Center for Customer Success. You'll notice a new Success Center navigation button located below Settings in the main menu.
This feature allows us to deliver in-app messages and onboarding journey checklists directly to users.
Please note that we have removed the "Resources" navigation item, as this functionality is now handled by our new chatbot system.

• Users without Contact NinjaCat permissions will not see the Success Center.

Fixed API Issues with Report Downloads and File Names with "/" or "\"

  • Adjusted the API logic to provide clearer error handling for large or complex files. For cases where a report exceeds a threshold (9 MB), the API now returns a direct URL for downloading the report instead of failing with an error. This link will expire 60 mins after generation.
  • We changed "/" and "\" to "_" in the file names which resolved the issue of these invalid characters making file names invalid and causing errors.
