What's New for the week of December 16th, 2024?

Revert AI Widget Text to Original

Users can now revert edited AI widget text back to its original state.

How It Works

  • Navigate to the report annotations page
  • Locate a processed AI widget
  • Right-click the widget to access the new "Revert to Original Text" option (appears only for edited widgets)
  • Confirm the revert action via prompt
    • Note: This will remove all text and styling changes
    • Returns widget to original AI-generated text
  • Changes can still be undone after reverting using Undo/Redo
This feature allows users to quickly restore AI widget content to its initial state while maintaining the ability to undo the reversion if needed.

Sync Frequency

The Sync Frequency feature allows enterprise customers to control how often their data integrations refresh, enabling more tailored data workflows for their reporting needs. This feature is designed to offer flexibility for high-priority use cases, like more frequent updates for time-sensitive campaigns or budgets.
Updated Key Details:

  • Enterprise-Only Access: This feature is available exclusively for enterprise customers and must be approved at the discretion of the sales team.
  • Manual Configuration: There is no user-facing UI for Sync Frequency in Retool or NinjaCat. All configuration is done manually via Postman by internal teams.
  • Customizable Sync Options: The feature still supports flexible intervals, such as hourly, daily, or custom schedules, aligned with customer needs and platform limitations.

We're incredibly excited to announce this feature for Enterprise customers. Customers who have specifically asked for this are WPromote and Push group. We'll do specific training on this feature tomorrow, during our weekly training call.

What's New for the week of December 9th, 2024?

Revamped Agents Library

The Agent library has been completely revamped, aiming to give users a more organized view of all of their agency's Agents, a snapshot of important settings and an easier way to find their most used Agents.
The big changes:

  • Agents are now listed in list format, still searchable
  • Quick visibility into Datasets assigned to those agents and if there's errors w/ those datasets, access level (Public / Chat Only / Private) and last updated
  • Ability to Favorite your most used Agents so that they're more easily accessible at the top of the screen

Visibility Permissions

The visibility of an Agent can now be controlled at the Agent level through these 3 options:

  1. Public: Everyone can view, edit and chat with the agent
  2. Chat Only: Only the owner can edit, everyone else can view and chat with it
  3. Private: Only the owner can view, edit and chat with the agent. This agent would be invisible to everyone else (except for NinjaCat Admins... we can see everythingggg)

This is the first iteration at giving users more access control, which is helpful especially when the owner has worked really hard at perfecting a prompt and don't want their prompt editd without their knowledge.

Enhanced Data Editing for Reports

We’re excited to introduce a powerful new capability to our reporting features—direct data editing within report widgets.
Key Highlights:

  • Edit Data in Reports
Right-click on any data widget within a report to access the new “Edit Data” option. This will open a modal displaying a table of the underlying data. From here, you can:
    Modify existing dimensions and metrics.
    Manually adjust totals.
Add new rows, delete rows, or duplicate rows as needed.
  • Change Tracking
Any subsequent user who edits that data will now see who made the previous changes and when the data was last updated—ensuring full transparency and accountability.
  • Refresh Data
A new “Refresh Data” option is also available when you right-click on a data widget. Clicking this triggers a fresh data request, fetching the most up-to-date information from the source.
Note: If you have previously edited the data manually, a prompt will appear before refreshing, reminding you that continuing will overwrite your manual changes.
  • Why This Matters
This enhancement empowers you with greater flexibility and control. If something doesn’t look quite right, you no longer need to leave the platform or adjust data at the source. Instead, make your changes directly within the report—saving time, reducing friction, and ensuring that your stakeholders always have the most accurate and relevant information at their fingertips.

We look forward to seeing how this feature streamlines your reporting workflow!

What's New for the week of November 25th, 2024?

Integrations Upgrade: Centro Basis

We're extremely excited to announce that our Centro Basis integration overhaul is complete! We’re now pulling data directly from Snowflake Share, replacing S3. This means faster performance and improved stability for our integrations.

What's New for the week of November 18th, 2024?

Aspect Ratio Preservation During Widget Resizing

The template editor now includes aspect ratio preservation when resizing widgets. Users can hold the Shift key while resizing to maintain the widget's original proportions.
• Widget will maintain proportions while respecting canvas edge boundaries
• Snapping functionality remains active
• Releasing the Shift key returns to standard freeform resizing.

Web-based Agent Tools

We're continuing to pack in more tools into our Agent's toolbox [insert 🔧 🔨 emojis]. We've released 2 web-based tools that can now be optionally enabled for an Agent: Web Researcher and Web Scraping.

  1. Web Researcher: Allows the agent to browse the web. Example use case: User wants to compare their account's campaign performance against industry benchmarks for certain KPIs like Paid Search Cost Per Lead and Cost Per Click. Agent needs to do research for what those benchmarks are for the specific industry and compares that against the campaign data found in the connected dataset.
  2. Web Scraping: Allows the agent to scan and extract information from specified websites. Example use cases: User gives the agent the url of one of their customers, and it can list out the most important keywords to be bidding on in their paid search efforts based off of the content of the site and industry knowledge. Or, could scrape customer reviews across yelp, google, etc to get an analysis of customer satisfaction.
There's sooooo much that a user could do with these two tools, and these open up many more use cases for our customers. These are available for all users that have Agents enabled in their agency already (which are only users who are already apart of the beta program or have started a 30-60ish day trial with us through the sales process).

Enhanced menu control in the Template Editor

Users can now individually collapse and expand the left and right side menus.
Key Features:
• Individual menu collapse/expand functionality
• Existing full-screen button remains unchanged
• Simple hover-and-click interface
To use: Hover over the left or right menu and a collapse button will appear. Clicking on the collapse button will hide the menu and expand the canvas area.
To uncollapse: Simply hover over either side menu and click the X to expand a collapsed menu.
This update gives you more control over your workspace, letting you maximize screen real estate while focusing on specific sections of your template.

Axis-Locked Widget Movement with Shift Key

We're excited to introduce axis-locked widget movement! Hold the Shift key while dragging a widget to lock movement along either the X or Y axis. Release Shift to return to normal drag behavior.
When moving widgets with snapping enabled:

  • X-axis movement: Snapping applies only to left and right edges
  • Y-axis movement: Snapping applies only to top and bottom edges
This enhancement gives you precise control over widget placement, letting you make granular adjustments without unwanted snapping behavior when it isn't needed.

What's New for the week of November 11th, 2024?

New Right Click Menu Design

  • Refreshed context menu UI to align with template editor's design language
  • Updated aesthetic with dark mode-friendly appearance

New Hotkeys For Widget Actions

We've implemented additional keyboard shortcuts to streamline template editing workflows and enhance productivity for power users. The new hotkeys include:
• [ (Open Square Bracket) - Send to Back
• ] (Close Square Bracket) - Bring to Front
• Ctrl/Cmd + K - Lock Widget
• Ctrl/Cmd + D - Duplicate Widget.

Automatic Widget Name Enumeration

When widgets are copied, duplicated, or created with identical names, the system now automatically appends an incremental number in parentheses to differentiate them.
For example, duplicate widgets will be labeled with (1), (2), (3), etc. This enhancement improves widget identification and navigation within the template editor, especially when managing multiple widgets with similar names.
Benefits:

  • Clear visual distinction between identical widget names
  • Simplified navigation in the widget menu
  • Better organization of multiple widgets on the page.

Widget Interaction Improvements

Users can now move and resize widgets even when they are positioned behind other elements on the canvas.
This update eliminates the need to reorganize layered widgets to modify underlying elements, streamlining the template design process.
• Select and manipulate widgets regardless of their layer position
• Move and resize widgets even when visually obscured by other elements
• Maintain workflow continuity without disrupting existing widget layouts.

Change Widget Type

We have introduced a new action in the template editor that allows users to change the type of an existing data widget.
This feature is accessed by right-clicking any data widget and selecting "Change Widget Type" from the context menu, which opens a secondary menu of available widget types.
When changing widget types, the following data settings are preserved where applicable:

  • Data source
  • Dimensions
  • Metrics
  • Filters
Note: Some property and styling settings may not transfer between widget types due to incompatible configurations. Additionally, certain dimensions or metrics may not carry over depending on the requirements and limitations of the target widget type.
This enhancement enables users to quickly transform an existing widget's data visualization without the need to recreate the widget from scratch.

Explore Dataset: Preview Limits

We have released updated Preview Limits. All users will see the new experience!

Better Data Source, Metric, and Dimension Editing Experience

We've improved the editing process for data sources, metrics, and dimensions to provide better control and prevent accidental changes:

  • New Save and Cancel Buttons: Replaced the single "Okay" button with separate "Save" and "Cancel" buttons.
  • Improved Change Management: Changes are no longer applied in real-time. Instead, they are only applied when you click the "Save" button.
  • Cancel Functionality: Pressing "Cancel" now reverts all changes to the original state when the edit modal was opened.
This update gives you more control over your edits and reduces the risk of unintended modifications to your data configurations.

What's New for the week of October 14th, 2024?

Enhanced Text Display in Custom Dimensions

We've introduced a new option for custom dimensions and custom mappings:

  • Users can now select view as an option of "Preformatted Text" for custom dimensional or custom mapping dimensions.
  • When this option is selected, the table widget will preserve and display all spaces and line breaks in the text.
  • This change ensures that predefined text appears exactly as entered, without HTML rendering alterations.
This feature improves text display accuracy and gives users more control over how their custom dimension data is presented.

Pie Chart Widget Enhancements

We've made several improvements to the pie chart widget to enhance its functionality and user experience:

  1. Data Label Customization
  • Users can now adjust the position and distance of data labels within pie charts.
  • This offers greater flexibility in label placement for improved readability.
  1. Small Segment Label Filtering
  • Added a new filter option to hide labels below a specified percentage.
  • This feature helps declutter charts by concealing labels for smaller segments.
  1. User Interface Cleanup
  • Removed the axes settings from pie charts, as they do not apply to this chart type.
  • This change streamlines the user interface, making it more intuitive.
These updates provide users with more control over pie chart appearance and improve overall chart clarity.

• Clients are limited to one manual sync per hour

This update gives clients more control over their data synchronization while maintaining system efficiency.

Template Editor Smart Connector Workflow Improvement

We've enhanced the template editor to improve data integrity and reduce potential errors. Here's what's changed:
Before:
• Users could add smart connector data sources without selecting a mapping
Now:
• Users must select a mapping when adding smart connector data sources
• The system prevents adding a data source until a mapping is chosen
• Minor improvements to the styling of modals within the template editor
This update ensures that all smart connector data sources are properly configured from the start, leading to more accurate and reliable reporting.

  • Create custom output filenames
  • Output as single CSV vs mutliple size-limited files

What's New for the week of September 23rd, 2024?

Backfill Fixes for Data Cloud

We’ve made a collection of backfill system fixes. Now, users are able to select the earliest available date without an error, and backfills will execute correctly when selecting the 2nd to the earliest date (both of which were issues before). Additionally, users won’t need to refresh the page to see the processing data requests in the sync history now when initiating a manual sync!

Dataset Views available in Reporting

It is now possible to use published Views in the Template Builder. Currently, for an older view to appear, it must be edited and reprocessed. This entails opening the view, changing something, then changing it back (for example, "twiddle" the aggregation of a metric from sum -> max, then back to Sum to mark the page as "dirty" then hit save. That will notify the system that the view is available.

Reporting - Now with Shapes!

We’re thrilled to unveil our new Shapes feature in the template builder, giving you even more creative control over your reports and dashboards.
Whether you’re looking to circle important data, square away key insights, or give your reports a fresh angle, this new feature has you covered. With rectangles, ellipses, and triangles at your disposal, you can shape your reports to stand out in any presentation!
Each shape comes with customizable fill and stroke properties, along with options for border style, opacity, corner radius, and even drop shadows—giving you endless ways to sharpen up your designs.
We can’t wait to see how you shape up your reports with this exciting new tool!

Widget Snapping Preferences Remembered

We’ve made a small but impactful update to the template builder. NinjaCat now remembers whether you have widget snapping turned on or off, saving customers time and eliminating frustration.

Delete Confirmations Modals are Gone!

We’ve removed the confirmation modal that used to appear when deleting widgets in the template builder. With the new undo feature, we’ve streamlined this process to save customers time and keep them in the flow of building.

Copy, Cut, Paste, and Delete: Now with Keyboard Shortcuts!

We’ve added powerful new keyboard shortcuts to the template builder, allowing you to Copy, Cut, Paste, and Delete with ease. This small but mighty update makes the process more intuitive, especially for designers and power users who really appreciate small efficiency gains.

Adding Dimensions, Metrics, and Data Sources: Now 200% Faster!

We’ve made it lightning fast to add dimensions, metrics, and data sources in the template builder! Custom and Library Metrics and Dimensions are now neatly tucked under a new “More Actions” button. It’s cleaner, faster, and better. Seriously, give it a try—you’ll love the new flow!

Data Cleaning / View Filters

When adding Equality filters to text fields ( like Advertiser Name "equals" "AcMe aNVils" ), the equality applied will be case insensetive. This also applies to "contains" queries.
Applies to all NEW filters added. Existing views will not be impacted by this change unless the user goes in and edits the View definition and re-saves it.
Tech Note: In snowflake, this is the ILIKE comparison.

It helps avoid errors caused by incompatible combinations, ensuring data is ingested smoothly. Users can bypass the validation if they get a warning but are confident their setup is correct.

Attribution Windows for Data Cloud

Big news: Attribution Windows is now available for Snapchat, Pinterest, Facebook, and Thinknear integrations within Data Cloud!
When setting up new datasets, users can configure the attribution window settings for these integrations, allowing for more precise conversions tracking. While editing existing datasets isn’t available, this new addition is a huge step toward more accurate reporting and insights.
More data sources will become available as they are requested!

Upgrade: DV360

We've upgraded DV360 to the latest version! This keeps us up to date and the data flowing. Customers will not notice anything new in the interface.

AI Widget Enhancements

A couple enhancements have been implemented for the AI Widget this afternoon: ability to edit the text (!!!!), and we adjusted the OpenAI version, so should hopefully be even smarter.... (!!!!)

Exciting news! You can now fully edit the text generated by the AI Insights Generator on a per-report basis in the Add Notes environment. The text can be edited, styled, bulleted, and more before sending the final product to your customer, keeping your template scalable yet customized to each of your customers.
Heads up: We’ve also updated the AI to the latest version: ChatGPT-4o, which is currently the most intelligent OpenAI model for complex, multi-step tasks. This version change could impact the output of your widget’s prompt. Please review and make any necessary changes to your prompt to ensure it is still achieving the desired output.

What's New for the week of August 19th, 2024?

New Constants "Days in Range" and "Months in Range" for Custom Metrics

Great News! When creating a custom metric, users can now insert two new constants into the formula. "Days in Range" and "Months in Range". What can this be used for?

  1. Dynamic Calculation: Incorporating “Days in Range” or “Months in Range” into a formula allows for dynamic calculations that automatically adjust based on the selected time period. This makes the metric more adaptable to different reporting needs without manually adjusting the formula.
  2. Time-Weighted Averages: These metrics enable the calculation of time-weighted averages, such as average revenue per day or month, which provide more accurate insights over varying periods.
  3. Rate Calculations: They can be used to calculate rates or changes over time, such as conversion rates, growth rates, or churn rates within a specific time frame, offering more granular insights.
  4. Comparative Metrics: By including time ranges in a formula, users can create comparative metrics, such as month-over-month or year-over-year growth, to measure progress or performance changes over time.
  5. Normalization: “Days in Range” or “Months in Range” can be used to normalize data, making it possible to compare metrics across different periods on a like-for-like basis, regardless of the length of the time range.
  6. Custom Aggregations: These metrics allow for custom aggregations based on specific periods, such as calculating the total sales for the last 90 days or the average user activity over the past 6 months, providing more relevant insights.

Custom Refresh Interval and Lookback Window Settings for EDR Providers

You can now pull data daily or more than once a day and set custom lookback windows for many EDR providers. These options give customers much more flexibility around how much data, how often to pull it, and when they get it. These options are available in the Network settings OR Mappings > Advanced, depending on the provider.
This new feature is supported in Big Query, Snowflake Share, Clickhouse, Vertica, CallRail, Call Tracking Metrics v2, and Marchex Edge. It does not include Simplifi, The Trade Desk and Nativo as these providers do not support the feature.

Undo/Redo: Your new favorite button is now LIVE! Customers can now easily undo and redo changes in the template editor! This feature is live for all users, with communication about the update going out today.
NinjaCat IDs: Customers can now copy their account ID directly from the account page, conveniently located under the account name.
Account Owner List Filter: We’ve added a new filter to the Accounts list, allowing customers to filter by Account Owner.
Dashboard GA4 Tracking: Customers can now add a GA4 tracking tag to their dashboards to monitor performance. This feature allows them to see who accessed the dashboard, how long they stayed, and measure the effectiveness of their reporting.
16:9 Template Size: Customers can now select 16:9 templates when creating new templates. We’re aware of issues with 16:9 templates in dashboards and will be working on a fix.

Datacloud: Data Cleaning

We're proud to announce the ability to create custom columns in data cleaning using advanced SQL expressions.
Note: You can't create custom columns on top of custom columns, as that could cause unintended problems when updating.

What's New for the week of August 5th, 2024?

Dataset Export: Duplicate row debugging feature

When an export fails to process due to duplicate rows (either to BigQuery or when a surrogate key is defined), the export system will generate a report of rows (up to 100 keys) that caused the duplication.
This allows clients to download and view the base data and see what dimensions they might have missed in their surrogate key configuration.

Upgrade: Linkedin Orgs

We’re excited to share that we’ve updated LinkedIn Organizations!
LinkedIn has deprecated the retrieval of complete account lists and here’s what you need to know about how that will impact your NinjaCat setup. LinkedIn no longer provides a complete Account list via the API but you now have three options for connecting your accounts to NinjaCat:

AI Insights Generator Update

"In today's release, we adjusted the range in which you can set for the Temperature setting for the AI Insights Generator. Initially, you were able to set this to a value between 0 and 2. We have adjusted this so that the cap is now 1. For any widget that was set to greater than 1 previously, the widget will now automatically be set to 1 (may not be reflected in the settings, but on the backend, it would be). Please review the output of the widget as the change from 'greater than 1' to '1' can give differing results in the generated text.
The Temperature controls the “creativity” of the text generated by the AI. A higher temp results in a more diverse and creative output, while a lower temp makes the output more deterministic and focused. After observing some results that our customers were seeing at a temperature setting of 2 (either landing in errors OR resulting in nonsensical text provided by the LLM), we made the decision to cap this setting at 1 so that we avoid these kinds of results."

Updates to cleaning/view editing for Large Datasets

Now, when working against large datasets (> 5m rows), the Editor will only load the "Most Recent" 30 days of data, capped to a maximum of 5m rows. For undated data (no Metric Date column), the first 5m rows will be used (non-deterministic)
This most recent update means that if you have a "stale connection" and only old data (for example historical Google UA data), you will still have data to preview, rather than getting a "No Data" message.
We are required to cap the number of rows in the working set to make sure that slow processing of large sets does not break the user experience.

Right-Click copy/paste and filtering from Dataset Cleaning and View editor

You can now Right-Click on a cell in the data preview window and copy the value from the cell. You can also choose to add a filter from the context menu.

What's New for the week of June 3rd, 2024?

Custom Streams UI

We’re incredibly excited to introduce Custom Streams UI to production. Custom Streams will allow users to alter the dimensions and metrics of their streams based on existing default streams.
One of the major changes that users will notice is that we’ve done away with the multi-select method of creating data streams. The UI became too confusing to allow users to select and customize multiple streams. You’ll see additional improvements in the feature over the next few weeks.

Google Ads Update

We’ve upgraded Google Ads to the latest version! This was a minor upgrade. There should be no perceivable, functional differences to users.

Listings for Birdseye

We’ve expanded BirdEye’s integration to support the Listing Report. This contains all metrics and dimensions available within the Listing Endpoint with a few exceptions.
We did exclude:

  • Service area
  • Hours of operation
  • Covid Information

Twitter Updates

We’ve made improvements to Twitter Ads. We now support Geo dimensions such as Countries, Regions, Metros/DMA, and City and Postal Codes. If you’re using these in custom streams, keep in mind that these location dimensions are incompatible with one another and incompatible with the older ‘Location’ dimension. Twitter limits you to one at a time.

New Streams for Data Cloud - Call Tracking, Twitter, Reddit Ads, Amazon Ads and Google Search Ads 360

New Default Streams have been published for Call Tracking, Reddit Ads, Amazon Ads, and the all-new Google Search Ads 360!

New Integration: Google Search Ads 360!

Centro Name Changes

Centro and Centro Basis have been renamed to match the naming conventions of Centro’s suite of products. Throughout the system, the Data Source known as Centro will appear as Basis DSP. What was previously Centro Basis will be known as Basis Platform. These name changes reflect the latest guidelines from Centro.

New Facebook Dimension: Ad Image Only URL

We’re excited to announce the release of a new Ad Image dimension called ‘Ad Image Only URL’. This dimension supports all Facebook Ad Types and will display only the Ad Image without any Ad Preview controls provided in the Ad Preview. Different Ad Types can behave differently so we attempt to take the highest-quality ad images available. We are storing this image, in the same fashion as the Ad Image URL, so that the link will not expire and will be hosted by NinjaCat. Remember, for ad types with multiple potential ad images, such as Advantage+ Carousel Ads or Video Ads, we take the first image and use it as the ad representation.

Autocompletion of Field Names in Copilot

A problem that we've been aiming to solve with Copilot is: in many cases, our users are not aware of which fields are in a dataset, which makes it hard for them to 1. select the correct dataset to analyze with Copilot and 2. ask questions using the correct field names in that dataset to have a more successful conversation with copilot. This update is a step toward solving this for our customers. The auto-completion of field names within the chat helps inform the customer which fields are a part of the dataset and helps Copilot understand what the user is asking for by receiving the exact match of the field name.

What's New for the week of May 5th, 2024?

New Default Streams: Google Search Console

We’re excited to announce that we have created new streams for Google Search Console in Data Cloud! The new streams will be called Devices, Devices By Page, Devices with Queries, and Devices with Queries by Pages. These streams are now external and visible to all Data Cloud customers.

Pinterest Ads Default Streams Updated

We’re excited to announce that we’ve updated the Default Streams for Pinterest Ads! The new streams will be Ad Group Full, Ad Group No Totals, Campaign, Conversions Pivot, and Pin Promotion. The previous version streams will continue to work for customers who have already connected to them.

Another batch of CoPilot Enhancements!

The following items have been implemented in CoPilot over the last couple of weeks:
-It will now query 500 rows at a time, increased from 50, meaning that the responses will be inclusive of much more data. You are also able to display these longer lists of data as a table (upon request) that you can then download to a CSV.
-Speakin' of tables... these tables are now AI Tables, meaning that they are created by the AI, and the user can manipulate them. Examples: Add rows, and separate content from one column into a new column. And can then be downloaded.

-More Account Matching enhancements: when a user asks about a specific account (or campaign or ad set, etc), but the spelling isn't an exact match to what exists in the dataset, the AI is now smart enough to recognize accounts (or campaigns or ad sets, etc) that look like what you asked for / are the closest matches, and ask for clarity on which element you meant (instead of going off and trying to find it and then erroring/stating that nothing exists).

Display and Video 360 Improvements

We’ve made some improvements to Display and Video 360. Specifically, we’ve added the Inventory Rate Type and Inventory Commitment Type fields. DV360 is an EDR integration, so a backfill will need to be initiated for anyone who wants to leverage these new fields and have all the data. If you are looking for these fields contact your NinjaCat Customer Success Manager.

Campaign Manager 360 Improvements

We’ve made some changes to Campaign Manager 360 surrounding the addition of the Dynamic Element dimension.

Export filtering by Date Range and Replace Mode for BigQuery

When setting up an export, users can filter the rows by both Advertiser and Date Range. Users can select to export a relative time range (1 Day -> 3 Months) and which Date column to query on.
When exporting to BigQuery, you can use that Date Range filter to replace those rows in the target table rather than upsert. This means we will fully sync the data between what we have and what you have for those days.

CallRail and CallTrackingMetrics Name updates

Previously - Legacy CallRail and CallTrackingMetrics were called ‘CallRail’ and ‘CallTrackingMetrics’ throughout the system. Our brand new CallRail and CallTrackingMetrics integrations were called CallRail v2 and CallTrackingMetrics v2. We’ve cleaned up the names throughout the system to guide customers to use the integrations that we recommend.
Legacy CallRail and CallTrackingMetrics will now be ‘CallRail (Legacy)’ and ‘CallTrackingMetrics (Legacy)’. New CallRail and CallTrackingMetrics will now be called simply ‘CallRail’ and ‘CallTrackingMetrics’.
Just a reminder that the legacy versions will use the Call Tracking data source in the Template Editor, and the new versions of CallRail and CallTrackingMetrics will use their stand-alone Data Sources within the template editor.

What's New for the week of April 8th, 2024?

Comparison Values can now be styled!

Previously, there was no way to adjust the font style or size of the comparison values within widgets of the template builder, even when the rest of the text was styled. Now, comparison values can be styled within the Global Settings of the template builder, with an override option at the individual widget level for tables and scorecards (same as our other font styles). This came through as a bug ticket, but this is fun enough to share here as a widget-building enhancement!

Meta >>> Facebook Name Update

We're making a text change to Meta within the template editor. Previously, the data source had been named "Meta". Now - users will select the data source Facebook (Again). This is a more correct name given this data source is Facebook Ads.

New Default Streams! - Vendasta, Google Ads, Bing Ads, Amazon DSP, Google Business Profile (Google My Business), Linkedin, Centro, Change History, Birdeye, Spotify

Our developers have been working extremely hard to publish new Default streams for all of the Data Sources described above.

Major Linkedin Update!

We’re excited to announce that we’ve done a major upgrade to LinkedIn! In addition to this important and necessary update we’ve also added all outstanding met/dim requests:

  • Video-related metrics - Video Views, View Rate, and Completion Rate
  • Ad Metrics - “DSC Name”, “DSC Type”, and “DSC Status”
  • Linkedin Conversion Types - External Website Post View * Conversions, External Website Post Click Conversions, Conversion Value

What's New for the week of April 1st, 2024?

Google My Business Question and Answer Endpoint, Search Terms Breakdown, and Location Dimensions

We’re excited to announce that we now integrate with Google My Business Question & Answer endpoint. This endpoint allows users to report on the Question and Answer related dimensions from customer’s business listings. In addition, we now support Location-related dimensions. Finally, we now support Search Terms Breakdown dimensions for GMB.

Facebook Ads Advantage+ Ad Type Supported!

We’re excited to announce that we now support Advantage+ ads within Facebook Ads! This importantly means that, if you are trying to report on Advantage+ ads, you will need to revoke and reauthenticate your Facebook token. After you do this, the ads should start working automatically.

CoPilot Feedback Mechanism

We've added a way for our users to leave feedback about CoPilot within the chat experience! This will help us gather way more feedback, directly from our customers while they're in the middle of using CoPilot. This way, we can assess success on a more qualitative level and learn more quickly. The user has a few options to provide feedback:
-Positive or negative sentiment (thumbs up / down icons)
-Single-click categories of negative feedback (which we can continue to customize/change over time)
-An open form to submit some custom commentary
Feedback is given on a 'run' of messages which is a consecutive chain of messages from the AI, where the feedback option appears on the last message in the chain.

Hubspot Metrics and Dimensions Updates

We’re excited to announce that we have made some metric and dimension updates for Hubspot. Specifically, we’ve added the Contact Source dimension for Hubspot. In addition, we’re allowing users to filter by Landing Page. We’re now bringing in Landing Page Analytics via Hubspot.

Data Ship: Account Filters

We've released the ability to apply Account filtering to Dataset Exports in the user interface. Easily select the Account(s) you want to appear in your exported data and that's what you'll get.

What's New for the week of March 18th, 2024?

Data Ship: Export Credentials

We are proud to announce that we have released self-managed credentials for Export destinations. Now, rather than having to send credentials to a member of our Customer Advocacy Team to set up a new export, the customer can upload their Google or AWS credentials directly in the user interface.

What's New for the week of March 11th, 2024?

Linkedin Updates

We’re excited to announce a number of changes to Linkedin Dimensions and Metrics. Those metrics and dimensions are the following:

  • Prospect Video Metrics
  • Linkedin Conversion Types, including Conversion Name, Conversion Type, Conversion Website Post View and Click, and Conversion Values

Facebook Ads New URL Dimensions

We’re excited to release the Ad Preview URL for the Facebook Ad Preview Service. The two dimensions will be Ad Image URL and Ad Preview URL.
Ad Image URL will be the new image hosted by NinjaCat. A nice feature of this dimension is that one can use the display as Image display type and display the image directly in reports and templates
Ad Preview URL is the iframed HTML ad from Facebook. The benefit of this dimension is that if the user clicks on it, they’ll be able to interact with the ad directly in the Dashboard page.

New Integration: Marchex Marketing Edge!

We’re excited to announce our native integration for Marchex Marketing Edge! Marchex Marketing Edge is a call tracking provider. Because it is stand-alone, it has additional dimensions and metrics specific to Marchex not found in our general Call Tracking provider type.

New Integration: CallRail!

We’re excited to announce our native integration for CallRail! CallRail is a call tracking provider. Because it is stand-alone, it has additional dimensions and metrics specific to CallRail not found in our general Call Tracking provider type. No migration is needed if your customers are using the existing Call Tracking provider for the time being. Existing templates can continue to use Call Tracking, but moving forward, customers should use the specific native CallRail integration because they’ll gain access to the latest features of the CallRail API.

New Integration: CallTrackingMetrics!

We’re excited to announce our native integration for CallTrackingMetrics! CallTrackingMetrics is a call tracking provider. Because it is stand-alone, it has additional dimensions and metrics specific to CallTrackingMetrics not found in our general Call Tracking provider type. No migration is needed if your customers are using the existing Call Tracking provider for the time being. Existing templates can continue to use Call Tracking, but moving forward, customers should use the specific native CallTrackingMetrics integration because they’ll gain access to the latest features of the CallTrackingMetrics API.

Hubspot Source Dimension

We’re excited to share that we’ve updated Hubspot with the Source dimensions.

TikTok Ad Preview Dimensions

We’re excited to release Ad Preview URL for TikTok Ads. Similar to the Facebook version, new dimensions are added with Playable URL and Image URL.
Playable URL will be a link directly to the target TikTok ad, and the user can play the ad on the Dashboard page.
Image URL will take a screenshot of the ad (whatever is showing at 1 second into the video) for use in reports. Display as Image should work in the reports or dashboard, just as it does for the Facebook dimensions.

What's New for the week of February 26th, 2024?

Ad Preview Service

We’re excited to announce Ad Preview Service support for Images! This service has been enhanced so that we now can make a request for an Ad Preview from networks like Facebook and save those HTML Ad Previews as Images. Once saved, those ad Images will be saved forever. It’s important to note that the real customer-facing portion of this, specifically an Ad Image URL (type URL) dimension will be coming in early March. This is an exciting service that we can continue to extend in all sorts of directions.

Automatic Backfills for Data Cloud!

We’ve made a major enhancement to Data Cloud with a feature called Automatic Backfill! Early Data Ship customers who added new customers to their EDR networks (TradeDesk and DV360, specifically) were complaining that we had no good way of sending only data for the new customers, as opposed to sending them 2 years worth of data for every customer that they have. When you consider they’re adding and removing customers frequently, and receiving an enormous backfill every time is costly to them, we needed to solve this problem.
Automatic Backfill triggers when a new advertiser account is associated with a network. We’ll pull down only data for that advertiser ID and fill in only the date gaps that have no data. It turns our backfill process from a sledgehammer into a scalpel.

What's New for the week of February 19th, 2024?

Common Business Columns in Datasets (Advertiser Name, External ID)

All Datasets within NinjaCat Data Cloud will be enriched with the "Advertiser Name" and "External ID" during processing.
If the data is account matched, these fields are automatically available in the dataset and included in Data Ship options (export/share)

What's New for the week of February 12th, 2024?

Delete Datasets

We've launched the ability to delete NinjaCat Data Cloud Datasets into production.

Vertica and Clickhouse SQL Drivers

We’re thrilled to announce that we now support two additional SQL drivers, specifically, Vertica and Clickhouse. Anyone using Vertica or Clickhouse now can connect their SQL to NinjaCat!

What's New for the week of February 5th, 2024?

Facebook Ads v18 Upgrade!

We're excited to announce the release of Facebook Ads v18! Facebook v17 included a new scope called business_management which is now supported in Facebook Ads. This release brings us up to date and gives us the ability to add the API's latest dimensions and metrics in the future. We're currently working on the latest creative ads and will introduce those into the system in the coming weeks.
While this will not impact Facebook Ads, it will impact some Facebook Insights and Instagram Business Profile users who have businesses that are designated Business in the Meta platform.

CoPilot V1 Enhancements

MOAR CoPilot enhancements were released!
-Additional visuals available: geographic, word maps and heat maps
-Code highlighting and code copying is now supported
-Icons and Last Updated times are now included in the datasets selection menu
Not only were these enhancements implemented, but several bugs were also addressed. Which included resolving a couple of new error states, improving how the AI locates the correct campaign name / keyword / ad name / etc, and more (moar).

Billing UI

The billing button in the left-hand nav now opens up the Maxio billing portal in a new tab where the Primary Contact per agency can go through the login steps.

What's New for the week of January 22nd, 2024?

CoPilot: Enhanced AI Visuals

Enhanced AI Visuals in CoPilot! This release smooths out the chat experience and introduces enhanced visuals (including various chart types, tables, and scorecards) to the conversation to put the customer in full control of the visualized data. Previously, only horizontal bar charts were presented for most inquiries, and the customer didn't have control over the chart. Any agency that is already using Copilot will automatically experience these enhancements.

Data Cloud User Permissions

We now have a user-based permission toggle for accessing the Data Cloud features in the NinjaCat Main Navigation menu. This helps NinjaCat Admins completely configure the experience for every level of NinjaCat user.

There’s now a new permission to add to a role called “Data Cloud Access”.
Existing NC Admins and Full Permission users will still retain access. Other users who may have had access to Data Cloud will not have it unless they have those roles/permissions.
The Datasets UI Beta (called Show Base Datasets UI Beta) must be enabled in agency features for this role to show up and for the navigation to show up for full access users/NC admins.

What's New for the week of January 8th, 2024?

New Integration: Spotify

We’re incredibly excited to announce that we’ve released Spotify v1! Spotify will include 8 reports for Data Cloud which can be divided into two broader types, Entity Reports and Insights Reports. Entity Reports will contain things like Ad, AdSet, and Campaign data. Entity Reports will be the Ad Report, AdSet Report, and Campaign Report. The Insights reports will contain demographic data such as age, gender, and genre. These reports will be Audience Age, Country, Gender, Genre and Platform Reports.
