Google Ad Manager: Creative Preview
Google Ad Manager creatives now render as visual previews directly in your NinjaCat reports and dashboards. This gives you an at-a-glance view of the actual ad creative alongside its performance data — without leaving NinjaCat.
Overview
The Creative Preview dimension is a new added dimension available for Google Ad Manager data sources. When included in a report or dashboard widget, each row displays a rendered visual of the creative tied to that row's data, making it easy to connect performance metrics to the specific ad unit that generated them.
How to Use Creative Preview
- Open or create a Google Ad Manager report or data widget in NinjaCat.
- Add the Creative Preview dimension from the dimensions panel. It will appear in the dimension list under your Google Ad Manager data source.
- Run or refresh the report. Each row that has an associated creative will display a rendered preview of that creative alongside the row's metrics.
Tip: Creative Preview works best when combined with creative-level dimensions such as Creative Name, Creative ID, or Creative Size, so each row maps to a distinct creative.
What to Expect
First-View Generation
The first time a creative preview is loaded, the preview is generated on demand. This may take a few seconds to appear. After that initial render, the preview is cached and loads instantly on all subsequent views.
Coming Soon
We are rolling out an enhancement so that previews are pre-generated as creatives sync from Google Ad Manager, making that very first view instant as well.
Why Some Preview Cells May Appear Blank
Blank preview cells are expected in certain situations and are not indicative of a problem. A cell will legitimately appear blank when:

|---|---|
| No renderable asset | The creative does not have a visual asset that can be rendered as a preview. |
| Paused or archived creative | Creatives that are paused or archived are not rendered. |
| House Ad or unfilled inventory placeholder | House Ads and unfilled-inventory placeholder lines do not have an associated creative asset. |
| Custom or VAST template with missing asset | Custom creatives or VAST video templates where the underlying asset URL is absent or inaccessible will not render. |
